A centre for Research and Training in Ocean Electronics (CENTOL) has been set up in the Department with the financial assistance from the ministry of Human Resource Development , Govt. of India and the UGC. The ministry in two installments for this centre sanctioned an amount of Rs. 32 lakhs. U.G. C has approved the establishment of the centre during the VIII Plan period with essential staff and infra structure. UGC has sanctioned a sum of Rs. 60.00 lakhs under the DRS program in 1993.
